Click here for an VINData Motorcycle History Report on this 1997 Moto Guzzi Sport 1100.
More of a sport-tourer than an outright sportbike, the 1100 is a beautiful anomaly from the usual Guzzi fare of torque-y cruisers. Visually, the Moto Guzzi Sport 1100 stood out from its Japanese competition because the proportions of plastics to engine made it look low-slung and broad-shouldered – the middle linebacker of the sportsbike world. Traditionalists shouldn’t worry as it still packs the trademark V-Twin, but in this incarnation the motor is surrounded by performance components: Brembo brakes, WP suspension, Bitubo steering damper, and Marchesini alloy wheels.
The 1,064cc motor was good for 90 horsepower and 71 lb-ft of torque, and you can flirt with 140 miles per hour with the throttle pulled all the way back. For more information, check out this story on Motorcycle.com – they call it a “unique combination of old-world sensations and modern components.”
Manufactured in January of 1997, this example is VIN: ZGUKFAKF8VM111990. The seller acquired it in January of 2021 from an auction here on Iconic Motorbikes.

Maintenance:
“When I purchased it in 2021, I had it repainted to a proper Italian Red and powder coated the wheels gold and replaced the tires. I changed all the fluids and adjusted the valves.” The seller adds, “left throttle body weeps a couple drops sometimes after running. I’m told this is real common with Guzzis of this age.”
Modifications:
Staintune full exhaust.
Will Creedon performance chip and foam under passenger seat to secure battery in place and to prevent it from shaking around.
It is riding on Bridgestone Battlax T31 tires with date codes of 0719 and 2920.
The sale includes one key. It also includes the original tool kit, owner’s manual, workshop manual, and a replacement foam surround for the dash.
Cosmetic Blemishes: please see the album up top for all known cosmetic blemishes. Here is a selection:
The seller notes: “scratch on left exhaust, small scratch on right valve cover in the paint, tachometer ring has rub scratch/rub mark from cable hitting it.”
