2000 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-9R

Kawasaki introduced the ZX-9R in 1994 as an answer to the legendary Honda CBR900RR.

The ZX-9R was revamped in 2000 with an entirely new look, adding a distinctive ram-air intake slung beneath new twin headlights. It also got a boost in power (up to 144 hp) due to new 40 mm carburetors and an increased compression ratio.

However, the biggest differences could be found in the overall handling of the bike. Kawasaki fitted larger engine mounting bolts, increased the size of the swingarm pivot, and upgraded the wheel spindles. Together, such changes made for greater stiffness as well as improved steering response. And here’s the thing — the bike was light too; Kawasaki claimed that the ZX-9R tipped the scales at a svelte 403 pounds dry from the factory.

This example is VIN: JKAZX2E13YA000980. The seller acquired the bike six months ago from a dealership in Wisconsin.

During his ownership, the seller has covered approximately 1,000 miles. The odometer shows 33,356 miles.

Maintenance:
The seller reports that he had the carbs adjusted for higher elevation, as well as a recent full service including changing the oil and fluids.

Yoshimura RS-3 exhaust.

Frame sliders.

Zero Gravity smoked windscreen.

Corbin seat.

Flush mount front turn signals.

Aftermarket rear turn signals, tank pad.

Please note: The seller has removed many of the pictured stickers from the windscreen and belly pan.
