When Ben Bostrom was competing in AMA Superbike with a 998S, he raced with the number 155. So when Ducati decided to sell a limited edition replica, they sold 155 examples in the US, 155 examples in the UK, and another 155 for the rest of the world.

Instead of copying the livery on Ben’s WSBK racebike, they instead created a design inspired by his helmet.

Ben signed every tank himself.

The Bostrom rep got you Ohlins suspension, a blue frame, Marchesini wheels, and some carbon fiber bodywork.

The US and UK bikes different slightly in that the UK “S” model got a hotted up engine and the US bikes got carbon fiber side panels. Shared upgrades for the “S” models in both markets included 4 pot Brembos, Ohlins steering damper, larger exhaust, and a carbon fiber belly pan.

This example (VIN: ZDM1SB5V32B015277) #106 of the 155 Bostrom replicas sold in the US.

The seller acquired it five months ago from a collector in Florida who was “taking his bike collection in a different direction and decided to sell some of his Ducatis.” Since then he’s covered approximately 100 miles. The odometer shows 17,238 miles.

The previous owner “states that he had all services done on the bike couple of years back including all new fluids and belts. The bike was part of a big collection and was never really used but was fired up regularly. It has covered less than 200 miles since all services were done.” It also has new fuel lines and a new battery.

The seller states that “the overall paint of the bike is in absolutely great condition. There are no visible scratches anywhere, even the mirrors are in perfect condition. The same goes for the wheels as well, there are no scratches on the wheels or curb rash anywhere.”

He adds that the bike “comes all original with very few tasteful upgrades which include:”
– Carbon fiber Termignoni exhaust (original exhaust is included – please note that Haul Bikes will not accept this so the buyer will have to pay for separate shipping). Carbon fiber exhaust heat shield.

– Carbon Fiber heel guards, swing arm guard, chain guard, and rear fender.

– Carbon fiber open clutch cover.

The sole mechanical issue is that it needs a new speedometer cable “as the one on the bike just snapped. I have an apointment scheduled with Ducati Newport Beach to fix it but because they are so busy right now that is not for another couple of weeks. Bike will be sold before that time comes.”

The seller has a growing family and does not have much time to ride any more, so he is downsizing his collection (we recently sold a Ducati 998 Matrix Reloaded Edition for him as well). The sale includes an owner’s manual, two keys, spare parts catalogue, and the original color-matched stand.

It also includes a spare set of OEM blue hand grips (not pictured) and a matching Suomy Ben Bostrom helmet.
