Looking to enter the growing mid-sized scooter market, BMW designed the C 400 from the ground up. Although branded as 400 the engine is a 350cc, four valve single-cylinder putting out 34bhp and topping out at 86mph.
Beemer engineers didn’t sacrifice on build quality either, using a slightly tweaked version of their CVT transmission, 35 mm hydraulic front forks, and dual coil-over shocks. A Continental MK 100 MAB 2-channel ABS system provided excellent stopping power for the tubular-steel underframed 449 pounder.
The size enters motorcycle territory with its 61.6 wheelbase; accordingly, BMW equipped the maxi-scooter with a riding position similar to a motorcycle, upright and commanding without the feet being too far forward. Paired with their ‘automatic stability control (ASC)’ and a ‘vibration decoupled engine mount,’ the nimble C 400 offers a smooth, quiet ride.
This example is VIN: WB40C1901KS876258. The seller is the original owner; he bought the bike with the intent of having NMoto create one of their “Golden Age” scooters for him. In fact, the seller previously owned another NMoto kit called the Nostalgia which he had Iconic sell. He was second in line for the Golden Age, but due to supply issues related to the Ukraine war, he will not be able to get the bike and does not need the scooter otherwise.
The odometer shows 93 miles.

The seller reports that he had the oil and fluids changed. “The scooter has received a complete once-over.”
