Description
Please note: This is part of the Damon Schuetze collection.
Typically we ask sellers to include a starting video or allow us to include one when we list a motorbike to ensure the motor is good but the seller had all these bikes professionally prepped for storage and wants to keep them that way. He had the bikes inside his home so they are dry on fuel and ready to add into a collection or get running again (Iconic is happy to help with that). Iconic sold him the GSX-R750RK, the ZX-7RR and the 1986 Suzuki RB50 GAG so we have prior running videos of those in our archives but the rest came from other sources. Adam knows many of these bikes from seeing them in the past as he nearly bought the RC45 from Bob Weaver, remembers the OW01 at a live auction, and a couple of the others. They are from credible sources even before the seller acquired them and again, we’d love to get them prepped to ride again for the buyer if he/she elects to do so.

The NSR50 was in Honda’s lineup for decades before they blessed the USA with a chance to officially try it for ourselves in 2004. Before that year, Americans had to either order one directly from HRC (Honda Racing Corporation) or try to import one through the gray market. It was well worth the effort, because Honda used components that made it much more competent on the track than the usual choice of the Yamaha YSR50. But for 2004 (and only for that year), you could go to certain dealers and walk out with this diminutive-yet-impressive race bike the same day. It was easily the best deal in minibike racing at the time.
Producing 7.2 horsepower at about 10,000 rpm, the 49 cc two-stroke single is liquid cooled and redlined at 11.5k. This helps powered the NSR50 to a top speed of about 60 mph. Ask anyone serious about racing and they’ll tell you that this is one of the best bikes to get started on. Frankly, many experienced riders love getting practice on the NSR50 and its incredibly light weight of just 161 pounds.
This example is VIN: RS501101433. Per Damon’s account: “I found the bike a few years ago through a local ad. I went to the guys house. Turns out he’s in a motorcycle club that we are involved with, but I didn’t know him before. He had two. One was a rider and this one was in the crate. He let me ride the other bike as I had never ridden an NSR50R before. And then I bought the other one. To my knowledge, it has never been started since being sold, although there is a faint smell of fuel in the tank. I don’t know if somebody started it before, but I took it out of the crate. I’ve kept it inside on display since that time.”
There is no odometer. True mileage is unknown.
