When Honda first introduced the Grom 125 (MSX125 for those of you outside of the U.S.) back in 2014, the little bike made quite the splash. Some eagerly welcomed it, excited that the historically-practical moto manufacturer was finally ready to have some fun. Others scratched their heads, bewildered as to why Honda would cater to such a seemingly ‘peculiar’ niche.

Even in spite of its initial controversy, the Grom has firmly established itself within the motorcycle community. Between the compact size, the high-revving 125cc engine, and the flickable geometry, it’s a bike that has commanded quite the cult following.

Road & Track put it perfectly in their initial review: “The Grom is tiny, gutless, slow, and perfect. It’s the kind of motorcycle that probably made you enjoy riding in the first place… Invariably, it’ll make you enjoy riding again.”

2021 saw an update to the model. The SP designation was strictly a paint and graphics package but little bike did get a fifth gear, lighter wheels, updated LCD screen, larger fuel tank, and top speed was increased 5 m.p.h. to 59 m.p.h.

Iconic bought this to use at our Rhode Island location as part of Iconic East for our members to use during events or when renting the facility. We sent our fleet of Groms to our headquarters in California for the winter and now that we’re changing up what Iconic East will be we decided to sell one of the Groms to clear up some space so it’s being sold with no reserve! The odometer shows 147 miles.

Maintenance:
As the bike has only 147 miles on it, Iconic has not performed any service.

Recognizing the principles and passions they had in common, the two started up a close collaboration and deep friendship. Today, their partnership, in accordance with the SENNA Foundation, has led to the development of a new motorcycle that preserves the characteristics that made Ayrton the most beloved driver of all times.”

“The MV Agusta staff has designed an evolution of the F4 inspired by the same enthusiasm of its Chairman. An enthusiasm that not only derives from the friendship with the driver, but primarily from the knowledge that the Foundation’s purpose is to assist over 300,000 Brazilian youths by contributing 100% of its proceeds to the development and implementation of social programs."

Built to celebrate Mike the Bike’s comeback triumph at the ’78 Isle of Man TT, the Ducati 900 MHR (Mike Hailwood Replica) was initially produced solely for homolgation purposes. As such, just 200 were built in 1979. But demand was so high that Ducati decided to keep production going, and by the end of the run in 1986 the Italian firm had built approximately 7,100 examples – meaning that even though Ducati originally wanted it to be limited production, it ended up being the best selling bevel-drive twin they ever built.

It also means values can vary quite a bit depending on the year of production. Regardless, basic specifications include a 72 horsepower, 863cc V-Twin with a 5-speed gearbox and a top speed of 137 miles per hour.

By the last update to the series in 1985, the motor was bored out to 973cc and the model name got changed to MHR Mille as a result. Output numbers went up – 76 horsepower and 62 pound-feet of torque, but it also got Brembo brakes, Conti exhaust, an electric starter, different gauges, folding foot pegs with rubber inserts, adjustable Verlicchi clipons, and more. Between ’85 and ’86, approximately 1,100 MHR Milles were built, and they were the last bevel-drive twins to come from Ducati. For more on the MHR, check out this article on Motorcycle Classics.

The seller states the bike was “imported from Japan about a year ago.” The odometer shows 15,266 KM which is 9,486 miles. The seller has covered approximately 10 miles.

The seller states he has “cleaned & rebuilt the carburetors with new seals, changed the oil and filter, deep cleaned & detailed the bike.”

The seller states “intake pods on carburetors, aftermarket fuel shut-offs" and includes three keys.

After the polarizing style of the 999’s vertically-stacked headlights, Ducati went back to the single-sided swingarm, under-tail exhaust, exhaust, and side by side eyes made famous on the 916.

All of this took shape in the form of the range-topping 1098, a bike that Cycle World stated, “Isn’t just an improvement, it’s a revelation.” Of course, in typical Ducati fashion, the Bologna-based manufacturer also introduced a smaller sibling — sharing the frame and bodywork — known as the 848.

To celebrate Nicky Hayden racing for Team Ducati during the 2009 MotoGP season, a special edition was released in 2010 exclusive to the United States. Limited to 150 examples, the bike is mechanically the same, the difference was with the aesthetic; and the exact paint scheme was used at both American MotoGP races (Laguna Seca and Indy) on Ducati’s 2010 MotoGP race bike. Finishing off the package is the Kentucky Kid’s signature atop the tank.

This bike meets U.S. EPA and California state emissions. The odometer shows 3,761 miles.

Maintenance:

Designed by Pierre Terblanche, the Ducati 999R (and the regular 999 it was based on) was met with mixed reviews with regards to the exterior styling when it was first released. But no one can deny the success that Ducati had in WSBK and AMA racing with the 999R. To comply with AMA homologation rules, the states got 300 examples of the zenith of Ducati road bike technology at the time.

The liquid-cooled L-twin (two-cylinder) Testastretta engine on the base 999 produced 124 horsepower at 9,500 revolutions per minute and 75 pound-feet of torque at 8,000 RPM. The racing-oriented, 423 pound, R model saw increased horsepower and at the time, it was the most powerful production V-Twin motor ever – pushing 146 horsepower and 86 lb-ft of torque.

The seller purchased the bike five years ago from a private party in Washington state and states, “I purchased this bike, Imported it to Canada and have had it on display in my collection for the past 5 years.” The odometer shows 5,478 miles.

Karting first appeared in the late 1950s when Art Ingels, a race car builder, assembled the first Go Kart in his garage in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles. Early, unofficial, events were held in the Rose Bowl parking lot but as popularity increased complaints did as well so the first official races were held at the Eastland Shopping Center in West Covina, about 25 miles east of downtown Los Angeles.

Oval tracks are typically 1/10 mile to 1/4 mile in length with surfaces varying from pavement, to loose dirt to hard-packed clay or even sandy coverings; banking can range from flat to steeply banked. Cart chassis are off-set as races are left turn only — notice the different width tires.

Iconic purchased this cart as part of a package deal. We want it to go to use and have decided to auction it with no reserve.

The engine is a Predator 212 with approximately 5 horsepower. This has an estimate 25 minutes of use on them.

Iconic's 5th auction going live on the site today's a rarely-seen-in-the-US single which was inspired by '50s and '60s British racing bikes - and this one's guaranteed to have a new owner! This GB400's from 1986 and it's available for bid now with NO RESERVE on iconicmotorbikeauctions.com

The US received the GB500, which is arguably more popular now then when it was available in dealerships. The 400 is a very rare find in the US. One advantage to the little brother was a decrease in vibration from the single cylinder motor. If your riding preferences don’t involve outright speed, its an interesting option.

The whole package weighed between 330-346 lbs dry (depending on the year) and the one-lunger put out approximately 34 hp at 7,5000 rpm and 25.5 ft-lbs of torque at 6,000 rpm. For more on the little GB, check out this article on Yew Emm Gee here.

The seller purchased the bike from a commercial auction in Japan two years ago. The odometer shows 30,538 kilometers (18,975 miles).

After a decade of its flagship V-Twin platform, Aprilia introduced the all-new RSV4 superbike in 2009. Built to compete in the 2009 World Superbike Championship series, the RSV4 was Aprilia’s first-ever four-cylinder model.

The RSV4’s chassis was the latest in Aprilia’s line of Grand Prix-bred aluminum twin-spar frames. The trick twin-beam unit was constructed from a hybrid of cast and pressed sheet sections, offering the optimal balance of strength and rigidity. Equally race-inspired and derived from the same manufacturing techniques was the RSV4’s double-arch aluminum swingarm.

Sweetening the deal even further was the RSV4’s gorgeous Italian bodywork. The sharp symmetrical front fairing and angular tail section have been so unanimously adored, that — much like the iconic Tamburini-designed MV F4 — even after a decade since its initial release, the manufacturer has done very little to update its flagship’s look (aside from the addition of winglets). Why fix what isn’t broken…especially when it looks this good?

Today's 3rd auction hitting our site asks: Want a mini-sportbike that was never officially sold in the US? Well say hello to the Suzuki RB50 GAG! This one's from '86 and it's available for bid now with NO RESERVE on iconicmotorbikeauctions.com

In the 80s, motorcycle manufacturers were attempting to reach new riders by developing smaller size toys. Honda had the Mini Trail, Kawasaki had the KV, and Yamaha had a street option with the YSR. Suzuki had the RV50 for the dirt as well as a full-faired baby sportbike, the RB50 GAG. The RB, released in 1986, featured 4 different liveries: red/white, a grey/white tribute to a bomber plane, a pink “Little Racing” livery complete with a few rabbits, and a blue/white replica of its bigger GSX-R brothers.

Despite the toy-like nature, the RB actually had a hydraulic disc brake at the front and full-floater aluminum swingarm. The 141-pound bike was powered by a small 4-stroke 5.2hp engine.

Suzuki offered the RB50 (sold as the GSX-R50 in the UK) for just a couple of years, making them as rare in the US as they are smile-inducing. Note how the usual “Suzuki Advanced Cooling System” has been replaced by “Suzuki Advanced Comical System.”

The seller states “purchased from Japan Commercial Auction approximately one year ago.” The odometer shows 8,590 KM which is 5,337 miles.

Iconic's 2nd auction to go live today begs the question: what would you have planned for it? It's an '06 Ducati Monster 620 Dark project bike and it's available for bid now with NO RESERVE on iconicmotorbikeauctions.com

In an age when sportbikes ruled, the Monster gave buyers a taste of something fresh. Between its torquey 900cc engine and cafe racer looks, it was an overnight sensation. The following year in ’94 Ducati made the Monster more approachable with the M600. With its 584cc engine — putting out 54hp — and tempting price tag, it was an instant hit.

Then, in 2001, Ducati improved on its entry level offering by replacing the 600 with the 620. Sporting fuel injection and a new 618cc engine, the updated middleweight Monster benefited from a further nine ponies. The Monster 620 Dark (like the one being offered here) displays an aggressive matte black finish. Tipping the scales at 370lbs dry and putting down a respectable 63hp, it’s easy to handle, responsive, and according to Totalmotorcycle, “You can safely and seamlessly go from comfortable city to more aggressive sports rides.”

The bike was traded for parts by a former employee, unfortunately Iconic does not know the bike’s history. True mileage unknown.

Maintenance:
This bike is a project, it does not start, have keys nor have compression. Iconic has not put it up on the bench.

Sorry for posting these out of order but it’s always interesting to see how various racers set up their bikes.

These are fun with their crazy high redline and light weight but they are even better when you “make em your own”.
